In case you didn’t know, one of the perks of coming to Killington is that the city offers a free tour experience designed for rookie skiers that are still learning how to move down the slopes and especially those who visit Killington mountains for the first time and want to get the best out of their ski experience.
The overall goodness of this experience is that let’s be honest: It’s great to have additional guidance when you’re in a new place and what adds a huge value is that it’s free, so it doesn’t hurt to have someone to look after you and show you a great part of the almost 2,000 skiable acres in which trails you can ski or snowboard and have plenty of fun with your friends and family or relates, which will also help you save a humongous amount of time.
The Meet the Mountains Tours take place daily at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. from mid-December through April 6, 2023. The friendly tour guides are located in the courtyard at Snowshed Base Lodge and hit the slopes for a 75-90 minute tour of Killington Resort. Appropriate for novices and higher ability levels (blue square terrain may be included).
Over the top sights
You’ll get Mountain Orientation from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily mid-December through April 6, at the large trail guide sign at the top of the K-1 Express Gondola, offering breathtaking sights and an amazing experience.
You’ll be able to explore all over the mountains, from Ramshead to Sunrise, and they will also show you how to get around, and shortcuts will tell you the best places to eat, how to avoid crowds, and find the best trails.
